With the German Chamber in Cambodia and Vietnam.
Laurin GerdesCEO & Co-founder · 2 min readIn September 2026 Laurin Gerdes spent six days in Cambodia and Vietnam with a delegation of German companies. The market exploration trip on medical technology was part of the German government's market access program, organised locally by the German Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam).
- Trip from 13 to 18 September 2026.
- Talks in Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City.
- Travelling with the German Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam.

Five minutes in Phnom Penh
On 14 September the delegation met guests from Cambodia’s health sector at a workshop in Phnom Penh. Each German company had five minutes. Laurin talked about how knowledge about a device gets from the manufacturer to the hospital, and showed how a QR code on the device opens the right course.
At the ministry and the residence
The same day the Ministry of Health received the delegation, followed by a visit to a private hospital. In the evening the German embassy held a reception at the ambassador’s residence.
Ten minutes in Ho Chi Minh City
On 16 September Laurin presented Fracto for ten minutes at the chamber’s seminar on the healthcare industry in Vietnam. He described where training on complex devices tends to fail: little time, many professional groups, training records kept in different places. He was looking for hospitals in Vietnam for a first pilot project with Fracto.
Who trains staff on the devices
In both cities the delegation visited hospitals. At a public hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, staff said that training on specialist devices is usually done by the manufacturer or its local partner.
